The OMP1-18.20.RKT marker type photoelectric sensor for direct current works with red light and consists of a receiver and transmitter which are located in a cylindrical plastic housing M18x65mm. The output of the sensor is NPN type with one normally open and one normally closed contact. The nominal distance of operation of the photoelectric sensor is 15mm. The optoelectronic sensor ends with a 4-wire PVC connecting cable with a length of 2m and has an LED indicator showing the output state of the optical sensor. The sensor is protected against incorrect cable connection, current overload and short circuit of the outputs.
The marker type photoelectric sensor consists of a transmitter and a receiver located in one housing. It is used for registration of black, white or colored marker strips applied on packaging materials, passing in a strictly defined area in front of the active part of the sensor (12÷18mm). The width of the marker strips must not be less than 3 mm. The sensors differ from each other depending on the color of the light emitted:
1. Operating with red light - can distinguish well black, gray, green, blue, purple or brown marker stripes applied on a white, yellow or red background or the opposite.
2. Operating with green light - can distinguish well black, gray, red, blue, purple or brown marker stripes applied on a white or yellow background or the opposite.

The M18 marker optical sensor is used in industrial systems as an automation tool for switching 3- and 4-wire DC circuits. The marker optoelectronic sensor emits a modulated light beam in the visible region of the spectrum and serves to register marker stripes applied to packaging materials. The optical marker sensor has a long service life thanks to the contactless switching of the electrical circuits in which it is included.
