The ODM1-08.11.F infrared photoelectric diffuse sensor for direct current consists of a receiver and transmitter which are located in a cylindrical metallic housing M8x46mm. The output of the optical sensor is PNP type with one normally open contact. The maximum distance of operation of the diffuse photoelectric sensor is 45mm. The optoelectronic sensor ends with a 3-wire PVC connecting cable with a length of 2m and has an LED indicator showing the output state of the sensor. The optical sensor is has no protection against current overload and short circuit.

Application and operating principle

The M8 presented photoelectric diffuse sensor serves to switch direct current circuits. The optical sensor emits modulated ray of light, which is reflected by the passing (coming near) object and returns back to the sensor. When an object passes in front of the sensor active surface its output switches from one state to another. Nominal switching distance of the sensor is measured by the help of white cardboard with size 50x50 mm. The output indicator of sensor is on, when the receiver output is active.
